MX3 and EMX2 – Pole position for Salvini and Gercar

Italian rider Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Tecno B) and Klemen Gercar (Yamaha Gariboldi Racing) from Slovenia took the pole position in Germany.

MX3

It was a sunny and warm Qualifying day at the maiden event in Schwedt. The sandy race track Muellerbergen is long and technically pretentious. Italian Alex Salvini took the pole in the MX3 World Championship Qualifying Practice. It was his sixth pole this season. Salvini said: »After two race without the pole position, I was the fastest again. We had a good competition with Pierre Alexandre Renet, who was also very fast and this is good for the Championship. Tomorrow I expect a difficult race. The track is not easy and also visibility was quite bad because of the dust. Renet is very fast and we are both fighting for the Title. So we will see what will happen tomorrow.«

Pierre Alexandre Renet from the German team Suzuki Bodo Schmidt was holding the pole position till the last lap because Salvini improved his time in last seconds. Third was Spanish rider Alvaro Lozano from Yamaha Ausio Racing. Honda Team MB riders finished top five. Slovene Matevz Irt was fourth. French Julien Vanni, who came back after the injury was fifth.

But Gercar, who was fifth started passing riders in front of him. He came in the lead and conquered his first pole position. Gercar said: »Although I did not have very successful start, I passed through and took the lead. I made a safe difference in front of rivals and I was controling the situation till the end. The race track is soft but I was riding good on the sand.« He is with every race more content: »My form is better and better, what is seen also from my results. I would like to fortify my third position and enjoy in racing.« Second was his teammate Christophe Charlier, who crashed at the start. Finnish rider Harri Kullas finished third.

Jeffrey Herlings from the KTM JM Racing won the EMX2 Qualifying Race 2. Matthias Bellino from Yamaha Gariboldi Racing finished second, Italian rider Andrea Cervellin from the Husqvarna Tecno B finished third.
