Opportunities Lommel-Day Report
Major
news came out of the opening day of the Belgian GP, including the
announcements of the KTM 2010 Factory line up, Team France’s line up for
the Red Bull FIM MXoN, the presentation of the 2009 Everts & Friends
Charity Race and of Lazer’s new ultra lightweight helmet.
Lazer presents MX7 Evo
Helmet
In the year of their 90th
anniversary, Lazer presented their latest revolutionary helmet MX7 Evo, a
product being characterized by a reduction of the overall weight to offer
the riders better comfort.
In the paddock of the Belgian
Grand Prix in Lommel, Lazer unveiled this ultra light helmet weighting just
956 grams –more than 230 grams lighter than the previous models by Lazer-
and being currently the most lightweight in the market. As most of the
weight was taken off by reshaping the helmet’s accessories, the MX7 Evo
helmet is made in Ultra Light carbon fabric, a material which is used in the
airplane technology. The manufacture of this helmet takes 25% more time than
the manufacture of the previous models.
Defending MX1 World Champion
David Philippaerts has been using the MX7 Evo since the German GP but from
the Bonver GP of the Czech Republic, set to take place next weekend, all
Lazer backed riders should be provided with the new lightweight helmet.
